LHH is seeking a permanent Staff Accountant for a Property Management company in Richmond, VA.

Fulltime, in-office $60k annually.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Financial Reporting:

  • Maintain the internal financial reporting system
  • Ensure accuracy of information included in reports
  • Update all internal reports (trailing twelve month operating reports (414), budget to actual analysis, Cost Per Occupied Room analysis, expense detail reports, and operating performance summaries)
  • Create monthly regional company and fund level roll-up report
  • Lead the distribution of all financial reports
  • Primary Operational Standards and Processes:

  • Manage the closing process and maintain the closing checklist
  • Facilitate communication within the accounting department so that all deadlines are met
  • Export data from accounting system and prepare draft internal financial reports
  • Create billing invoices (Accounts Receivable)
  • Record Invoices (Accounts Payable)
  • Resolve intercompany reimbursable billing matters
  • Produce journal entries (standard monthly and adjusting entries)
  • Upload transactions from the Property Management System
  • Record payroll journal entries and assist with bank account reconciliation process
  • External Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare quarterly and annual fund level consolidated financial reports in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare GAAP based management financial reports
  • Distribute financial reports to external users as required
  • Work with external financial auditors to facilitate the annual financial audit and preparation of federal and state tax returns
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience: 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of mathematics typically used in the accounting field
  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
