HR Generalist in Roseland, New Jersey

Are you a highly motivated, energetic, people-focused HR Generalist? Our client, a law firm in Roseland, NJ is looking to bring on a Human Resources Generalist to support all HR activities and programs including hiring, onboarding, employee relations, company policies and processes, and special projects.

Responsibilities:

Provide Human Resources support to the department

Manage compliance, employee relations, training, recruiting, payroll, and employee benefits

Hands-on recruitment activities of the internal and external staffing support functions

Field and answer questions from employees and outside parties

Manage and assist employees with all aspects of their benefits

Maintain a high level of confidentiality

Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations with knowledge of human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations

Provide consultation and support with employee performance management

Conduct initial orientation and onboarding of new employees

Attend job fairs and recruiting events

Manage any employee leave of absence

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related Business field

Minimum of 3+ years of HR Generalist experience

Proficient in MS Office products

Strong oral and written communication skills

strong employee relations experience and demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate judgment

Ability to pursue PHR or SPHR (professional designation)

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment,

Detail-oriented

Coaching and dispute resolution skills are a plus

Law firm experience or professional services experience is preferred

Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of employment law, both state and federal

Working Conditions:

This position works in a professional office environment and is required to sit for prolonged periods of time using a computer and telephone.

Scheduled hours will be Monday through Friday 9am – 5:3pm or 8:30 – 5:00pm, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.
