LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist for contract role with a growing company in Roswell, GA. This position will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to communicate information to benefit logistics functions as well as research and authorize freight invoices for accuracy and validity. The Logistics Specialist will review Data Center inventory, in-bound shipments, and ongoing demand to ensure that proper stock levels are maintained in all locations to support build and repair activities. The incumbent will assist Customer Service, Sales and Procurement with transportation needs and logistics knowledge for feasibility and to minimize cost.

Required Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Resolution of freight discrepancies and accounts payable invoice discrepancies while working to resolve common issues (continuous improvement).
  • Requires phone calls to plants, on-line research, interaction with A/P department; Knowledge and understanding of reasons for discrepancies, the freight billing process in our ERP system, GL coding and carrier/plant interaction.
  • Requires research purchasing invoice discrepancies related to the purchase order process in the ERP.
  • Resolution of typical issues that may occur between suppliers, receiving departments, purchasing buyers and requestors.
  • Works closely and communicates with Logistics Manager and Finance department on all RBNI (received but not invoiced) transactions.
  • First line of defense on operational issues (pick up/delivery problems, carrier no shows, driver detention, corrected BOL’s, refused loads, etc) logistically to minimize cost and resources.
  • Analyzes freight data and lanes to determine optimal utilization of carriers and equipment
  • Back up to Data Integrity Coordinator for freight rate and customer charge changes and annual freight bids executed by North America Central Logistics team.
  • Ensure all carriers are compliant with company’s requirements about safety, financial, regulatory, and service standards.
  • Provide pricing for customer service, sales, marketing, and NPD.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable in Transportation including all modes.
  • Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Analytical and detailed oriented
  • Highly organized and able to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in data analytic software (spreadsheets, data warehouse systems)
  • Ability to develop project management skills; must lead self-skills; strong work ethic
  • Work well in a dynamic environment and team and relationship-building skills.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of B.A or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Any other professional certification will be of added advantage.
