Benefits Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a temporary Benefits Manager for an established, community-based non-profit organization in San Francisco, CA. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference working for an organization that specializes in empowering the lives of seniors through dignity and independence.

The position ideally comes in on a hybrid schedule, but we are open to seeing candidates who prefer a 100% remote work environment as well.

Main Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manage all company benefits
  • Design compensation packages and bonus programs
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs
  • Keep track of prevailing pay rates to make sure organization stays within competitive compensation plans
  • Employee validation and keeping invoices moving forward
  • Ongoing Audits (Compliance and Retirement), lots of Medical/Dental/Vision
  • Drive future initiatives (e.g. Student Loan Forgiveness)
  • Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution
  • Revise and reissue all communications material on benefits. Advise and counsel management and employees on existing benefits.
  • Other duties, as reasonably assigned
  • Education/Qualifications

  • 4-7 years’ experience overseeing or managing benefits programs. PHR and/or CEBS professional designations preferred
  • Strong knowledge of benefit contract language. Must have a strong working knowledge of all pertinent federal, state and local regulations, filing and compliance requirements (both adopted and pending) affecting employee benefit programs including: ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to understand, evaluate and make recommendations on vendor proposals (RFPs).
  • Strong skills and experience in updating and utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously
  • Software experience: MS office suite, UltiPro, or other substantially similar HRIS
  • Self-Insured knowledge is a huge plus!
  • Multilingual a plus!
