Benefits Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a temporary Benefits Manager for an established, community-based non-profit organization in San Francisco, CA. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference working for an organization that specializes in empowering the lives of seniors through dignity and independence.

The position ideally comes in on a hybrid schedule, but we are open to seeing candidates who prefer a 100% remote work environment as well.

Main Responsibilities/Duties

Manage all company benefits

Design compensation packages and bonus programs

Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of employee benefit programs

Keep track of prevailing pay rates to make sure organization stays within competitive compensation plans

Employee validation and keeping invoices moving forward

Ongoing Audits (Compliance and Retirement), lots of Medical/Dental/Vision

Drive future initiatives (e.g. Student Loan Forgiveness)

Handle benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, and courteous resolution

Revise and reissue all communications material on benefits. Advise and counsel management and employees on existing benefits.

Other duties, as reasonably assigned

Education/Qualifications

4-7 years’ experience overseeing or managing benefits programs. PHR and/or CEBS professional designations preferred

Strong knowledge of benefit contract language. Must have a strong working knowledge of all pertinent federal, state and local regulations, filing and compliance requirements (both adopted and pending) affecting employee benefit programs including: ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, and DOL requirements.

Strong analytical skills with ability to understand, evaluate and make recommendations on vendor proposals (RFPs).

Strong skills and experience in updating and utilizing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).

Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously

Software experience: MS office suite, UltiPro, or other substantially similar HRIS

Self-Insured knowledge is a huge plus!

Multilingual a plus!
