Payroll Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a mid-sized financial firm in San Francisco, CA. This on-site role will work with a friendly, small team and report to the Payroll Manager.

This is a multi-state company with a complex payroll system (including commissions,); prior experience in this area is a must.

The ideal candidate is extremely detail oriented, personable, and has experience using multiple payroll platforms. This company currently using Paylocity, but will be transitioning to UKG/Ultipro within the coming months, so experience with either of these programs is ideal.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll and maintaining the employee database
  • Prompt and courteous responses to phone and email inquiries
  • Handling direct deposit requests and data
  • Acquiring all necessary signature to distribute payroll
  • Making adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, and commission
  • Perform specific duties related to insurance plans, 401k, and flexible spending accounts reconciliation of accounts, timely vendor payments
  • Ensure timely processing of all new hires, promotions and terminations for several units
  • Skills/Experience:

  • A minimum of (2) years in payroll processing. Accounting and HR experience preferred.
  • Software: Microsoft Office, Concur, Sage, BYTE. Paylocity and/or UKG/Ultipro a plus!
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and payroll best practices
  • Very good knowledge of legislation and regulations of the payroll field
  • Trustworthy and able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Outstanding organizational ability with a great attention to detail
  • FPC and CPP certification a plus!
  • Hours: Full-time
