LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Staff Accountant for career opportunity based in San Francisco, California. In this role, you will serve as the primary payroll specialist for a not-for-profit organization with more than 300 employees. You will also provide critical support and relief to the Accounts Payable team along with the agency’s senior financial leaders.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year


40 Hours Per Week


KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring that all calculations are correct and that all payments are made on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure that they are up-to-date and accurate, including tax withholding, benefits deductions, and other relevant information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits, ensuring that all questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
  • Ensure that all invoices are coded and approved correctly, and that payments are made in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile accounts payable records with vendor statements to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end close processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing journal entries.
  • Maintain accurate and complete financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance tasks as needed.

  • DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll and accounts payable processing.
  • At least 2 years’ service providing accurate and timely payroll for at least 100 employees
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing software and accounting systems (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
