About the Role:
LHH has partnered with an amazing law firm seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Secretary to support the litigation team in Santa Monica, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal document preparation, court filing procedures, and administrative support within a law firm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft, revise, and finalize legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, memoranda, and court forms.
Prepare tables of contents and authorities; perform redline comparisons.
Manage conflict checks, open new client matters, and coordinate conflict waivers as needed.
Assist attorneys with deposition scheduling and preparation.
Handle e-filing in administrative, state, and federal courts; file pleadings electronically or via messenger.
Ensure timely service of documents and follow up to confirm completion.
Maintain and organize both physical and electronic case files in accordance with firm policies.
Prepare and send correspondence with appropriate enclosures and accurate distribution.
Maintain advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including formatting and document automation.
Support document production and maintain client file integrity.
Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and attorneys.
Utilize Compulaw for calendaring and deadline tracking.
Manage attorney calendars, appointments, and travel arrangements.
Prepare travel and expense reimbursements.
Respond to attorney requests for filing dates, objections, and other case-related deadlines.
Provide backup support and assist colleagues as needed.
Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a legal secretary, preferably in litigation.
Strong knowledge of court filing procedures and legal terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (Compulaw experience preferred).
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
