Senior Benefits Coordinator
The Senior Benefits Coordinator is responsible for the daily administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. This role serves as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and ensures accurate processing of benefits-related transactions. The coordinator also supports open enrollment, compliance reporting, and vendor communications. This is a Contract role located near Schaumburg, IL.
Key Responsibilities
Process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Paylocity).
Maintain accurate records of employee benefits data and ensure timely updates.
Coordinate COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and other leave administration processes.
Support open enrollment activities, including employee communications and system updates
Serve as the primary contact for employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims.
Conduct new hire benefits orientations and provide ongoing education on benefits offerings.
Resolve employee issues with insurance providers and third-party administrators.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, ERISA)
Liaise with benefits vendors to manage enrollments, billing, and service issues.
Assist with audits, government filings (e.g., 5500s), and compliance documentation.
Monitor payroll deductions and reconcile benefits invoices
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR coordination.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, or Paylocity.
Strong understanding of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
