Family owned company with over 30 years in business putting customers goods into shipping vessels, looking to expand its Purchasing team that serves the Pacific Northwest (US). This role will report to various managers, and worker with in-house driver on delivery schedule.

Description

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for the purchasing of goods for all of the company's teams. The job works with both, vendors management, and receiving and delivery of goods. The role is mostly office nature, with daily local parts runs. There is usually a parts driver for farther runs, though sometimes the Purchasing Agent has to goes on them as well.

Computer skills are a must, to work with in-house ERP software. Must be able to generate reports and store data. Use of MS applications (Word, Excel) for reporting.

Some of the common orders include, diesel fuel, airline cargo quotes, raft services, fire extinguishing services, among other goods/services. This role requires plenty of face-to-face interactions which requires good customer service skills.

This role on rare occasions (3-4 times a year) has to work within the Alaskan borders, creating a harsh working environment and variable hours.

Requirements

High School education or GED

Valid driver's license

Computer skills

Schedule

20-40 hours/week

Monday-Friday

7:30am - 4:30pm
