Job Title: Benefits Manager
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Type: Full-time, Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and management of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
Develop and execute a benefits strategy that aligns with the company’s overall HR and business objectives.
Oversee the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes, including vendor negotiations, communication strategies, and system updates.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, such as COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and ERISA, and manage related audits and reporting.
Collaborate with senior leadership to assess the effectiveness of current benefits programs and recommend enhancements or new initiatives to meet employee needs and market trends.
Manage relationships with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants, ensuring high-quality service and cost-effectiveness.
Provide leadership and guidance to the benefits team, including mentoring, training, and performance management.
Analyze and report on benefits utilization, costs, and trends to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Lead the development and delivery of employee communications related to benefits, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
Handle escalated benefits issues and complex cases, working closely with employees and vendors to resolve them effectively.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in benefits administration, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health, welfare, and retirement plans, and relevant compliance regulations.
Proven experience in benefits strategy development and vendor management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in HRIS and benefits management software.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications:
CEBS, PHR/SPHR, or other relevant certification.
Experience with specific HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, or similar systems.
Previous experience in a large or complex organization.
