Job Title: Benefits Specialist
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Type: Full-time, Contract
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and coordinate employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
Provide direct support to employees with benefits-related inquiries, ensuring they understand their options and can make informed decisions.
Assist with the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including preparation of materials, system updates, and employee communications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits records in HRIS, and perform regular audits to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Liaise with benefits providers to manage and resolve issues related to claims, billing, and employee coverage.
Stay informed about changes in benefits regulations and ensure company programs are compliant with federal, state, and local laws such as COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.
Assist in the development of new benefits initiatives and wellness programs, providing input based on employee needs and industry trends.
Prepare and distribute benefits-related communications, ensuring that employees are well-informed about their benefits and any changes.
Collaborate with the HR team to support overall HR initiatives and projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
Solid understanding of employee benefits programs and relevant compliance regulations.
Proficient in HRIS and benefits management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Discretion in handling confidential employee information.
Preferred Qualifications:
CEBS or other relevant certification.
Experience with specific HRIS platforms like Workday, ADP, or similar systems.
Previous experience in a growing organization or fast-paced environment.
