LHH is partnering with a well-established organization in South Holland, IL to hire an experienced Payroll Specialist. This is a direct hire opportunity offering job stability and a comprehensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of payroll experience and a strong command of payroll compliance and tax regulations.


Details:
  • Title- Payroll Specialist
  • Rate- $70-$80k
  • Schedule- 100% Onsite in South Holland, IL
  • Position Type-Direct Hire


Payroll Specialist – Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly cycles.
  • Ensure accurate calculation and withholding of federal/state taxes, Social Security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation.
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including tax and lien accounts.
  • Handle wage garnishments and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Process manual checks, stop payments, reissues, and duplicate W-2 requests.
  • Enter and update employee data for new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments.
  • Record monthly payroll journal entries and generate direct deposit files.
  • Support accounts payable/receivable functions including invoice processing and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with operations and participate in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in payroll or accounting.
  • Minimum of 7 years in payroll administration (10+ years preferred).
  • Knowledge of Union Payroll Processing is preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with a structured and professional work approach.
