Details:
- Title- Payroll Specialist
- Rate- $70-$80k
- Schedule- 100% Onsite in South Holland, IL
- Position Type-Direct Hire
Payroll Specialist – Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly, bi-weekly, and semi-monthly cycles.
- Ensure accurate calculation and withholding of federal/state taxes, Social Security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts, including tax and lien accounts.
- Handle wage garnishments and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Process manual checks, stop payments, reissues, and duplicate W-2 requests.
- Enter and update employee data for new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments.
- Record monthly payroll journal entries and generate direct deposit files.
- Support accounts payable/receivable functions including invoice processing and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with operations and participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in payroll or accounting.
- Minimum of 7 years in payroll administration (10+ years preferred).
- Knowledge of Union Payroll Processing is preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team-oriented with a structured and professional work approach.
