Medical Billing Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist for a direct hire opportunity with a reputable healthcare organization in Tempe, AZ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing, collections, and insurance follow-up, with a passion for resolving payment issues and improving cash flow.

Responsibilities:

• Submit accurate and timely medical claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers)

• Perform daily accounts receivable follow-up on outstanding claims

• Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims through appeals or corrected billing

• Post payments, adjustments, and reconcile patient accounts

• Communicate with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies

• Monitor aging reports and maintain low DSO (days sales outstanding)

• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, coding, and HIPAA regulations

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing or documentation issues

• Maintain detailed and organized records of claims activity and outcomes

Requirements:

• 2+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in a high-volume setting

• Strong understanding of insurance guidelines, billing processes, and denial management

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software

• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment
