Now Hiring: Vice President of Operations – Custom Furniture Manufacturing

Location: High Point, NC | Relocation Assistance Available | Base Salary: Up to \$175K + Discretionary Bonus

Are you a seasoned operations leader with deep roots in custom furniture manufacturing? Our client, a respected name in the high-end furniture industry, is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead their North Carolina-based facility. This is a rare opportunity to take full P&L ownership of a site and drive operational excellence in a collaborative, quality-focused environment.

We’re launching this search from the ground up—and we’re looking for a transformational leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on leadership.

About the Role

As VP of Operations, you’ll oversee all aspects of manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and product development. You’ll work closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability while fostering a culture of trust, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full P&L Responsibility for a site of employees (including temps)

  • Lead and mentor department heads across manufacturing, scheduling, customer service, and product development

  • Drive operational strategy to improve efficiency, reduce backlog, and meet delivery targets

  • Collaborate with product development and sales teams to align production with market demand

  • Champion a culture of transparency, communication, and employee engagement

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards

  • Travel out of state for initial training (1 week each); minimal travel thereafter

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or related field)

  • 10+ years in furniture manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

  • Proven ability to lead seasoned teams and build trust through communication and empathy

  • Strong business acumen with experience in sales, operations, and strategic planning

  • Hands-on leadership style—comfortable being present on the floor and engaging with employees

  • Experience managing change in a legacy environment with long-tenured staff

  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and decision-making skills

Compensation & Perks

  • Base Salary: Up to \$175,000 (depending on experience)

  • Bonus: Discretionary, based on company performance

  • Relocation Assistance: Lump sum available

  • Work Environment: Collaborative, high-touch, and quality-driven

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: EVP of Operations

  • Direct Reports: Plant Manager, Director of Administration, Product Development Lead

  • Cross-functional collaboration with HR, Sales, and Executive Leadership

Industry Focus

We’re especially interested in candidates from custom furniture backgrounds—not case goods or mass-market furniture.

Ready to Lead?

If you're a strategic operator with a passion for craftsmanship and a people-first leadership style, we want to hear from you. Apply now to explore this exclusive opportunity.
