LHH Recrutment Solutions is searching for a qualified Staff Accountant to work for a company in the Suffolk County, NY area! This is a Direct Hire Position. Career Opportunity!!


POSITION SUMMARY: Assist controller with daily financial transactions, monthly close process, maintain balance sheet account reconciliation’s, budget process, inventory, journal entries, and others as assigned by controller or accounting manager.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconciles and fully analyzes financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position. Assists in the development of budgets, forecasts and variance reports as required by management.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions. Prepares monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.
  • Monitors capital expenditures and report compliance with capital budgets.
  • Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Documents and coordinates implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. Devises and implements after approval system for general accounting. Confirms the effectiveness of internal control procedures.
  • Supports regulatory audits and rate reviews.
  • Assists in the oversight of areas such as customer billing, cash receipts, customer collections, insurance, payroll, accounts payable and other administrative functions.
  • Trains and develops accounting support staff and reviews work for accuracy.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:


    Required:

  • BA or BS in accounting or Finance
  • 1-2 years experience in accounting or finance field required.
  • Knowledge of Excel program required.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and a focus on adding value to company.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented & good with numbers
  • Must be able to complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision.
