Logistics Coordinator

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a qualified individual for a position working in Transportation & Logistics for a leader in the Distribution Industry. It is a contract to hire role in the city of Wilmington, CA. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, then this is an excellent opportunity for you!

This person should be a self-starter, detail oriented and have experience within transportation and logistics. This role will also include creating opportunities to help improve the company’s transportation costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for evaluation of carriers and projects
  • Coordinate third party manufactures pick-ups and delivery
  • Coordinate w/ Fleet for customer deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Train Personnel and assist when help is required
  • Assist Plants with carrier related issues
  • Assist Customer Service Group
  • Resolve carrier & customers issues, both internal and external
  • Create, maintain the Master Bill of Lading
  • Create, maintain the Routing Guide
  • Create, maintain the Carrier Data Base
  • Assist in auditing freight payables for accuracy
  • Create, maintain DOT files. Responsible for DOT rules and regulations and guidelines, monitor files & paperwork of each driver, vehicle, and trailer to comply with all state and federal regulations.
  • Skills:

  • Ability to generate queries and organize data
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize, interpret and disburse large amounts of information
  • Ability to use SAGE
  • Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Logistics Administrative role
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Data Base applications
