Import Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking candidates for a role in the manufacturing industry. We are in need of an Import Specialist to oversee and manage our import operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the import process, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and optimizing efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the success of our international operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end import process, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation logistics.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and customs requirements, staying up-to-date on changes and developments in international trade laws.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery of imported goods.
• Evaluate and select transportation providers and negotiate freight rates to optimize cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of import transactions, including invoices, shipping documents, and customs declarations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, logistics, and finance, to support import-related activities and resolve any issues that arise.
• Monitor and track import shipments, providing regular updates to stakeholders on status and expected delivery dates.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings in import operations.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and international trade compliance preferred
• Proficiency in import documentation and customs clearance processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel
