What is an Executive Assistant?
An Executive Assistant is a senior office staff member who is assigned to a top executive or a group of executives for high-level administrative support. They often serve as an extension of their superior by acting as the executive's “voice.”
Executive Assistants manage the schedules and communications of key company executives by prioritizing emails and phone calls, gathering documents to prepare for meetings and coordinating travel arrangements. Their duties also involve supervising and training other office staff, as well as tackling tasks that could have a dramatic effect on the success of a company.
Education Requirements
- Associate’s degree or equivalent
- At least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area
