Our client is a well-established, mid-sized company specializing in the development and production of high-precision mechanical parts. With a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability, the company serves a wide range of clients across industries such as automotive, machinery, and industrial equipment.
To support continued growth and to drive technical excellence, we are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering (m/w/d) to lead and further develop the engineering organization.
Note: there is no home-office possibility for this job position
Job responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering department (cca. 7 people)
- Oversee product design, development, and industrialization of new mechanical parts
- Optimize existing production processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications
- Collaborate closely with production, quality management, procurement, and sales teams
- Manage engineering resources and budget
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
- Represent the engineering function in discussions with customers and external partners
- Support the professional development and training of the engineering team
Your profile:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in engineering and production of mechanical components
- Proven leadership experience (small team management, strategic planning, project leadership)
- Solid understanding of mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance
- Experience with CAD systems, PLM tools, and modern production technologies
- Strong project management skills, including experience with cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent in German (C1 or native level) and proficient in English
