We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Commercial Director (m/w/s) to oversee and actively participate in all commercial aspects of heavy infrastructure engineering and construction projects of our client. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing commercial functions within the construction industry, particularly in heavy infrastructure projects. This role requires Civil Engineering education background with excellent negotiation skills and a deep understanding of Tender documentation, Bid Management, Contract Management, Cost Control, and Risk Assessment.


Your responsibilities



  • Lead the preparation of tender documentation, including technical proposals, commercial bids, and project estimates, ensuring compliance with client requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as project managers, engineers, and estimators, to gather necessary information and insights for tender submissions.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of tender documents, contracts, and project specifications to identify risks, opportunities, and requirements.
  • Develop strategies to enhance the competitiveness of bids, including value engineering solutions and innovative technical proposals.
  • Manage the tender process from initiation to submission, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors during the tender phase to address queries, negotiate terms, and clarify scope of work.
  • Oversee the negotiation, review, and finalization of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to mitigate risks, resolve contractual disputes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to facilitate successful project execution and future business opportunities.
  • Lead the development of project cost estimates, incorporating technical specifications.
  • Implement effective cost control measures to optimize project profitability and ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, standards, and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and market dynamics in the heavy infrastructure sector, leveraging insights to inform strategic decision-making and enhance competitive advantage.


Your profile:



  • University degree in Civil Engineering. Additional education in Economics, MBA or similar is nice to have.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management within the construction industry, with a focus on heavy infrastructure engineering and construction projects.
  • Experience in managing costs, engineering and production activities in large scale construction projects.
  • Track record of successfully managing contracts, budgets, and risks on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Primavera, and contract management systems).
  • Fluent in English
