We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist. This role is responsible for the end-to-end processing of payroll for a multi-state employee base and ensuring timely, accurate compensation while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly, salaried, and contract employees across multiple states.
Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately.
Maintain payroll records and handle adjustments, garnishments, retroactive pay, and other special transactions.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
Collaborate with HR and Accounting teams to ensure payroll-related changes are properly implemented.
Ensure compliance with applicable wage and hour laws and regulatory requirements.
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and timesheets.
Generate payroll reports for internal and external use.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2–4 years of payroll experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment.
Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar platforms).
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations (FLSA, tax reporting, etc.).
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Strong Excel and data reconciliation skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in union and/or non-union payroll environments.
Familiarity with benefits deductions, PTO accruals, and timekeeping systems.
Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
