The Associate Director, Indirect Tax (Europe) is responsible for the development and execution of indirect tax planning strategies and initiatives to improve compliance across the region. The role also plays an active part in global tax projects, including group structuring, transfer pricing, and implementation of new programs impacting multiple jurisdictions.
The important work you will be doing:
- Conduct ongoing research into indirect tax legislation and regulatory changes across Europe, assessing and advising on the impact to the business. Develop and lead implementation of necessary process or business adaptations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to support strategic initiatives, new routes to market, and corporate reorganisations from an indirect tax perspective.
- Manage all indirect tax-related communications with tax authorities, including leading internal teams in handling audits or disputes efficiently.
- Work alongside internal and external compliance teams to ensure a robust compliance infrastructure and high-quality tax data.
- Partner with finance, legal, treasury, and accounting teams to support and fund initiatives that optimise cash flow and ensure tax risk mitigation.
- Collaborate closely with both corporate and regional tax teams on international and cross-border tax projects.

- Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders within a matrixed, multinational environment.
- Strong communicator who can simplify and articulate complex tax concepts across varying levels of the organisation.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Holds a relevant professional tax and/or accounting qualification.
- Ideally you will bring a minimum 10 years of experience in indirect tax, Big-4 experience desirable, but not essential, or from multinational corporate tax environments.
