Join a leading legal business as a Group Tax Manager, offering broad spectrum direct tax compliance work and supporting on advisory projects. The Tax Manager will lead compliance and advisory tax matters for the UK LLP within the Management Accounts Department, that consists of a close-knit, collaborative team of 12 colleagues.
This specialist role involves managing direct and indirect tax compliance, preparing UK LLP tax returns, advising on UK and international tax legislation, leading tax audits, and supporting payroll-related tax processes. You will also assist with global tax matters and collaborate with accounting teams across Europe and other jurisdictions to improve tax compliance efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit UK LLP Group tax returns, including income tax and corporation tax computations.
- Manage direct tax compliance and liaise with international offices.
- Lead VAT return preparation and submission for UK VAT registered entities.
- Oversee PAYE Settlement Agreement submissions and coordinate related payments.
- Monitor and advise on changes in UK and foreign tax legislation.
- Lead responses to tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
- Provide tax training and support within the Finance team.
- Maintain up-to-date tax knowledge through continuing professional development.
Candidate Profile:
- ATT qualified (or equivalent tax qualification) with experience in professional services tax and accounting.
- Strong knowledge of UK and international tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Commercially aware with financial acumen and the ability to identify opportunities from tax legislation.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and resourceful with excellent IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, accounting/legal software).
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills with credibility at all organisational levels.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Experience with international tax issues relevant to the UK LLP Group's jurisdictions.
