LHH is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded Top 100 accountancy firm in Manchester that is looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Manager to its growing team.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking and people-focused practice, known for its strong client relationships and commitment to professional development.


In this pivotal role, you'll take ownership of a varied client portfolio, lead and mentor junior staff, and play a key part in delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee and support the team by allocating work, providing guidance, and reviewing files to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Take the lead on more complex accounting assignments as needed.
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries, offering advice on year-end accounts, tax matters, and day-to-day bookkeeping.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to add value to clients' businesses, including tax planning, corporate finance, and funding solutions.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between clients and internal teams to ensure a collaborative, high-quality service experience.

Requirements:


  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ICAEW) with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within a practice setting.
  • Experienced in managing non-audit accounts, including statutory accounts, tax returns, management accounts, and bookkeeping.
  • Strong leadership skills with a background in supervising and mentoring junior staff, reviewing work, and handling complex assignments.
  • Client-focused approach with excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships.
  • Technically proficient, with strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Comfortable with cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
