LHH is currently accepting resumes for a Payroll Specialist position in Akron, Ohio.

Contract to Hire, starting $25-$28 / hour

Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll and payroll related records.

Manages the timely and accurate processing of all payrolls, payroll taxes and related benefit payments ensuring adherence to company policies and statutory laws. Assists with managing the accounting for payroll related transactions.

Essential Functions

· Provides support/back-up coverage to the Payroll Coordinator positions; refer to PAW for specific job duties.

· Produces an accurate payroll for weekly employees, meeting all processing deadlines using Dayforce payroll and timekeeping system.

· Reviews timekeeping records for accuracy and compliance.

· Approves employee self-service entries for direct deposit and tax withholdings.

· Processes support and garnishment employee deductions.

· Processes transition agreements; payments and reporting.

· Processes bonus plans according to schedules.

· Troubleshoots payroll related issues to ensure resolution.

· Ceridian Tax helpful but not required

· Biweekly payroll

· Degree in accounting/business or other related field (preferred) with four (4) + years of experience in payroll processing and two (2) + years of experience working with Dayforce Payroll and Timekeeping.

· In addition, two (2) years of basic accounting and general ledger experience.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products required.
