Overview
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Application Engineering Lead to guide a high-performing team in delivering scalable, secure, and innovative application solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, and who is passionate about leading cross-functional initiatives that drive operational excellence and digital transformation.
Salary Range: $85k–$95k commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Inspire and lead a team of application engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Oversee project assignments, performance reviews, and professional development plans.
Collaborate with HR and leadership on recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
Promote a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and technical mentorship.
Technical Strategy & Execution
Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and deliverables.
Lead the design and implementation of application architecture that supports scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Oversee the development and integration of APIs, data pipelines, and third-party platforms.
Ensure alignment between business goals and technical capabilities through stakeholder engagement and iterative feedback loops.
Project Management & Delivery
Manage full project lifecycles using Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.
Monitor KPIs and ROI to evaluate project success and inform future initiatives.
Provide regular updates to leadership on project milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all applications meet internal security standards and comply with regulatory frameworks (e.g., PCI, PII).
Conduct periodic audits and implement change control processes for deployments and rollbacks.
Maintain documentation standards and ensure traceability of requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in application development or engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience in the financial services industry is required, with a strong understanding of compliance, data security, and digital transformation in regulated environments.
Proven experience in managing enterprise-level application projects and cross-functional teams.
Technical Proficiency
Strong understanding of software development practices, system architecture, and integration strategies.
Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with SQL, scripting languages, and cloud platforms is a plus.
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
