Job Title: Network Engineering Lead

Salary Range: $80k – $95k annually (commensurate with experience)


Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Network Engineering Lead to oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a leadership capacity while remaining deeply technical. You will lead a team of network administrators, drive infrastructure initiatives, and ensure the security, scalability, and performance of our systems.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing network team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily operations, resource planning, and performance management.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align network strategies with organizational goals.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team members.

Technical Oversight

  • Architect and maintain secure, high-availability network environments including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.
  • Manage VMware, SAN, and server infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, implementing proactive solutions and capacity planning.
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration standards, and disaster recovery protocols.

Operational Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and system integrations.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and ensure 24/7 network reliability.

Vendor & Compliance Management

  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs to ensure service excellence.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain licensing and support agreements for network-related technologies.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Utilize monitoring tools to track network health and generate performance reports.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement remediation strategies.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in network engineering with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, automation, and security best practices.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Extreme Networks.
  • Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or equivalent.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+ and Security+.
  • Familiarity with financial or regulated environments.
