LHH is partnering with a respected New Mexico-based engineering, environmental, and surveying firm to identify a skilled Project Engineer with a background in General Civil, Water Resources, or Transportation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm known for its technical excellence, community commitment, and supportive team culture.
About the Role:
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing and delivering impactful infrastructure projects throughout the state. You will work with cross-functional teams on a variety of civil engineering initiatives that help shape New Mexico’s communities. This position offers flexibility on location—candidates may sit in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, or Santa Fe.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and support the planning, design, and delivery of civil infrastructure projects
Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to meet project timelines and goals
Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction plans
Oversee project budgets, schedules, and quality standards
Mentor junior staff and support professional development across the team
Participate in business development efforts and client presentations as needed
Travel to project sites as necessary (company vehicle provided)
Qualifications:
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New Mexico OR a neighboring state (with ability to obtain NM licensure)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Civil, Water Resources, or Transportation Engineering
Proven experience managing engineering projects and client relationships
Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools
