System Administrator

Location: Albuquerque, NM; onsite
Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Reports To: IT Infrastructure Manager
Salary Range: $70k-$80k


About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our IT operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional ready to take the next step in managing and supporting enterprise-level systems in a hybrid environment.

You’ll work alongside experienced IT professionals to maintain and optimize both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, learning new technologies, and contributing to a secure and efficient IT environment.


Key Responsibilities

Systems Administration

  • Support the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications.

  • Apply patches and updates to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.

  • Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning and reporting.

  • Help implement and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and automation scripts (PowerShell preferred).

Cloud & Application Support

  • Provide support for cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to email, file sharing, and collaboration tools.

  • Participate in the deployment and support of new applications and services.

Security & Compliance

  • Follow established security protocols and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation.

  • Support compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with help desk and network teams to resolve escalated issues.

  • Participate in IT projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

  • Provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.


Qualifications

Required

  • 2–3 years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure support.

  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms.

  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).

  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell preferred).

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Exposure to patch management and ticketing systems.

  • Experience working in a regulated or security-conscious environment.

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware) are a plus but not required.
