System Administrator
Location: Albuquerque, NM; onsite
Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Reports To: IT Infrastructure Manager
Salary Range: $70k-$80k
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented System Administrator to join our IT operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional ready to take the next step in managing and supporting enterprise-level systems in a hybrid environment.
You’ll work alongside experienced IT professionals to maintain and optimize both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, learning new technologies, and contributing to a secure and efficient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Administration
Support the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of physical and virtual servers (VMware, Hyper-V).
Assist with user account management, permissions, and access controls across systems and applications.
Apply patches and updates to ensure systems remain secure and up to date.
Monitor system performance and assist with capacity planning and reporting.
Help implement and maintain Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and automation scripts (PowerShell preferred).
Cloud & Application Support
Provide support for cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues related to email, file sharing, and collaboration tools.
Participate in the deployment and support of new applications and services.
Security & Compliance
Follow established security protocols and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation.
Support compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements.
Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with help desk and network teams to resolve escalated issues.
Participate in IT projects and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
Provide on-call support as part of a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
Required
2–3 years of experience in system administration or IT infrastructure support.
Familiarity with Windows Server environments and virtualization platforms.
Basic understanding of cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Azure).
Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell preferred).
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
Preferred
Exposure to patch management and ticketing systems.
Experience working in a regulated or security-conscious environment.
Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, VMware) are a plus but not required.
