- Regularly review the ETM worklist to proactively identify potential problem areas in claims processing.
- Initiate contact with appropriate carriers through websites and phone calls to inquire about unpaid claims, ensuring timely resolution.
- Analyze Accounts Receivable (AR) trends to identify and report consistent errors that may impact the correct processing of claims.
- Maintain a strong knowledge of the ETM system to effectively navigate and utilize it for claims management.
- Actively participate in monthly meetings with the No Response/Billing Supervisor to discuss and address ongoing challenges and strategies.
- Collaborate with the No Response/Billing Supervisor to communicate and address unusual circumstances, such as adjustments, denials, fee schedules, and claims issues.
- Flexibly perform all duties as directed by the Senior Representative, No Response/Billing Supervisor, and Accounts Receivable Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years of previous medical billing experience preferred, with a strong emphasis on research and handling claim denials in Accounts Receivable.
- Demonstrated expertise in physician billing and healthcare reimbursement, with a preference for experience with Medicare and Medicaid.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for accurate claims submission.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and carriers.
- Must be computer literate, with a preference for proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Outstanding follow-up skills to ensure the timely resolution of claims and outstanding balances.
