Job Title: Patent Paralegal
Location: Ann Arbor, MI
Job Description: An Am Law 200 Ann Arbor firm seeks a skilled patent paralegal with 2+ years of patent experience in a law firm to assist with our domestic and foreign patent docket.
Benefits:
- Salary: $60,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience
- Comprehensive benefits package including profit sharing
- Hybrid work format
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating domestic and international filings with the USPTO and foreign law offices or entities.
- Maintaining a docket system for due dates related to actions such as responses, renewals, oppositions, PCT requirements, and payment of patent annuities in foreign countries.
- Preparing and filing various documents with the USPTO or foreign counsel.
- Preparing correspondence to clients and status summary reports for attorneys and clients.
- Researching and compiling information on national and international patent rights, including searches of USPTO records, industry databases, and general legal research.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate preferred
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and the ability to work with Innovation, PATTSY, Lexis/Nexis, and other research databases.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to work independently
- Knowledge of and familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent work (prosecution, maintenance and renewals)
