Location: Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Controller
Job Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role will manage the accounting team, ensure accurate financial statements, and provide insights to support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; analyze performance and variances.
- Accounting Operations: Supervise accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger; ensure timely and accurate transaction recording.
- Property Accounting: Oversee property-specific accounting, including rent rolls, lease agreements, and expense tracking.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing budgets and forecasts; provide financial analysis to department heads.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to tax regulations and maintain strong internal controls; assist with audits.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering development and team performance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years in accounting with 3+ years in a managerial role, preferably in real estate.
- Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Yardi), GAAP, financial reporting, and team leadership.
