Job Title: Intellectual Property Legal Assistant

Location: Tampa, FL

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/yr.

SUMMARY:

LHH Talent Solutions is currently seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal for a permanent role. This position performs a broad range of administrative and clerical support for one or more partners, associates, and/or paralegals. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to partner with assigned lawyers and paralegals in the effective and efficient support of the practice group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, transcribe, revise, and maintain legal documents and correspondence. Regularly make edits to documents, spreadsheets, and letters.

  • Screen telephone calls, serve as liaison between attorneys and others inside and outside the firm, providing professional and courteous customer service to all.

  • Open, stamp, and sort mail, noting dates for the calendar.

  • Retrieve files and documents.

  • Handle administrative matters for attorneys/paralegals/supervisors and ensure compliance with firm procedures, including preparing conflict checks, receiving reports, initiating follow-up, opening files, reviewing and revising client billing prepared by the accounting department, and answering questions from accounting or other departments.

  • Copy documents and/or coordinate office assistance with administrative and clerical functions.

  • File all materials and documents promptly, boxing and closing files as needed.

  • Maintain filing system, contact list, and calendar.

  • Coordinate attorneys' schedules and make travel arrangements.

  • Schedule appointments, depositions, and coordinate necessary resources such as conference rooms and court reporters, with vendors, office services, and other departments.

  • Prepare and assemble error-free final documents and ensure timely delivery of the same to all recipients via mail, overnight service, courier, etc.

  • Coordinate filing of documents with courts or government agencies, ensuring they meet the requirements of the court or agency concerning format, number of copies, covers, etc., and serve on other parties as appropriate, including electronic filing of approved documents with appropriate courts or agencies as directed.

  • Provide assistance to others in the office whenever requested based on the priorities of current work in hand, promoting teamwork and mutual cooperation among all staff members.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to type at least 70 wpm without error.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of relevant legal terminology and court procedures.

  • Knowledge of the procedures for establishing and maintaining legal and other records and files.

  • Strong grammar, excellent proofreading skills, and attention to detail.



Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
