Key Responsibilities:
- Process and verify payroll for a large employee base (7,000+ employees) on a bi-weekly basis.
- Ensure accuracy of payroll data by reviewing timekeeping records, attendance, and leave requests.
- Manage payroll tax calculations and ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax payments.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, including deductions, adjustments, and other payroll-related matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with year-end processing and reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
- Implement and maintain payroll procedures and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, handling payroll for large multi-state employee groups (7,000+ employees).
- In-depth knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
- Excel (pivot tables and vlookups)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional) are a plus.
