LHH has partnered with a global company in the mining sector in search for an Import and Export Specialist. This role will serve as a liaison between international customers and the company’s distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, and finance teams with the end goal of managing the flow of goods across borders in compliance with laws, regulations, and documentation requirements. The ideal candidate brings 3 years of experience working with US trade regulations and working cross functionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage import and export activities including communication with and auditing/compliance overview of documents from customers, partners, international customs agencies, and carriers in conjunction with industry regulations.

  • Prepare, review, approve, and maintain files for import and export documentation including customs declarations, PO’s, packing lists, commercial invoices, SLI’s, SED’s, BOL’s, AWD’ and IC’s.

  • Communicate discrepancies with internal parties, assisting in investigating and resolving compliance issues.

  • Interpret U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, FTR, FCPA, OFAC and Customs) and provide necessary guidance to internal customers

  • Audit commercial and sales invoices to ensure their alignment with the product of the physical shipment and customer SLI’s, goods quantities, and goods values.

  • Interface with Compliance Teams and other internal functions (i.e., Program Management, Contracts, Procurement, Supply Chain) and Senior Leadership to ensure all work processes are in compliance with U.S. trade regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical capabilities.

  • Proactive self-starter and team player with a positive attitude and ability to empower colleagues and direct reports.

  • Customer service mindset for understanding customer and supplier needs and concerns so as to implement requests and changing demands into achieving business results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in transportation, international business, supply chain or a related field.

  • Knowledge and working experience with US import and export regulations

  • 3+ years of international multi-modal transportation, contract management, international supply chain, and import and export.

  • Knowledge of the EAR, FTR, OFAC and CBP regulations. Knowledge of the FCPA a plus

  • Active listener with high degrees of empathy.



Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
