Construction Project Analyst (Salary: $100K–$115K)

LHH is seeking a Construction Project Analyst for a client in the energy industry located in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for supporting the financial and operational analysis of construction projects related to natural gas infrastructure, with a focus on ensuring budget adherence, performance tracking, and regulatory compliance.
In addition to holding a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, the ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience supporting or analyzing construction projects, preferably in the energy or utilities sector. Proficiency in Excel, project management platforms such as Primavera P6 or MS Project, and data visualization tools like Power BI is essential. A solid understanding of construction cost management, scheduling, and regulatory standards is required, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities:
Create detailed reports and dashboards to summarize financial and operational performance for senior leadership.
Analyze construction project data to assess progress, detect potential risks, and propose corrective actions.
Maintain and update project budgets, forecasts, and timelines to ensure alignment with company goals.
Participate in vendor evaluations and procurement efforts, ensuring accurate cost tracking and contract oversight.
Collaborate with field teams to collect data and ensure on-the-ground activities are in sync with planning documents.
Help standardize processes by contributing to the development of procedures and best practices in project analysis.
Client Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a closely related field.
Minimum of four years' experience in construction project analysis, ideally within energy or utilities.
Expertise in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
Experience with data visualization platforms like Power BI.
Preferred experience in natural gas or utility infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance in energy-related projects.
CAPM certification or equivalent is a plus.
