About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a well-established, mission-driven nonprofit organization in Austin that’s making a meaningful impact through education, outreach, and advocacy. As they continue to grow and expand their programs, they’re looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team — someone who brings strong technical accounting skills, nonprofit experience, and a collaborative mindset.
This is a great opportunity to join a values-driven organization where your accounting expertise will directly support their ability to serve the community.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in full-cycle accounting operations — including general ledger management, restricted/unrestricted fund tracking, grant reporting, audit preparation, and monthly close. This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, a working knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (ASC 958), and the ability to work cross-functionally with program, development, and operations teams.

Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards (ASC 958)
Track and report on restricted and unrestricted funds; ensure proper allocation and fund release
Oversee grant budgeting, reporting, and compliance with funder requirements
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial statements
Support audit preparation and respond to external auditor requests
Partner with program and development teams to align budgets, reporting, and donor tracking
Assist with AP, AR, payroll, and annual budgeting as needed
Contribute to process improvements and system upgrades (QuickBooks experience a plus)
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or nonprofit coursework a plus)

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000, depending on experience
Full-time, 40 hours/week (Monday–Friday)
100% On-Site in West Austin — no remote option
Comprehensive benefits including paid holidays, health insurance, and 401(k) plan
