LHH has partnered with a growing construction company to hire a well-rounded credit and collections specialist to join their team. As a Credit and Collections Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing the credit and collections processes to ensure optimal financial performance and customer relationships. You will utilize the Dun & Bradstreet software and other tools to assess credit risk, collect outstanding balances, and maintain accurate customer records. Your attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and analytical mindset will be critical in maintaining healthy cash flows and minimizing credit-related risks. · Utilize Dun & Bradstreet software and other relevant tools to assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.


· Review credit applications, financial statements, and credit reports to make informed credit decisions.


· Set credit limits based on analysis and company policies, ensuring a balance between risk and opportunity.


· Collaborate with the sales team to establish credit terms for new accounts while maintaining a customer-centric approach.


· Monitor and analyze customer payment behaviors to identify potential delinquencies and proactively address issues.


· Initiate collections activities for overdue accounts, including sending reminders, making collection calls, and negotiating payment plans.


· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer communications, payment agreements, and collection efforts.


· Work closely with internal teams, such as Finance and Customer Service, to resolve credit and billing discrepancies.


· Provide timely and accurate credit-related reports to management, highlighting key trends and insights.


· Assist in the development and implementation of credit and collections policies and procedures.


· Stay current with industry trends and best practices in credit management.


Qualifications:


· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred but not required.


· 5+ years of recent experience as a Credit and Collections Specialist in a large corporate environment.


· Familiarity with Dun & Bradstreet software or similar credit analysis tools.


· Strong understanding of credit and collections principles, practices, and regulations.


· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.


· Effective negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.


· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.


· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.


· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
