LHH is working with an insurance company to fill a Staff Accountant role in Austin, TX. Our client is growing and adding this role to their accounting team. You will be able to work directly with the Controller and assist in the day to day accounting functions. To be considered for this role you will need to have a minimum of one year of accounting experience. This is a direct hire role offering a$60k-$65k.

What you will be doing:

• Assist in all phases of corporate accounting including but not limited to AP, AR, accruals, fixed assets, depreciation, prepaids, cash planning, and the closing process

• Reconcile and prepare journal entries daily for cash and bank statement activity

• Review and prepare journal entries for corporate expense reports and credit card spend

• Reconcile and prepare journal entries for prepaid and accrual expense amortization

• Prepare daily P&L and balance sheet account reconciliations for critical accounts

• Collaborate with management to ensure a complete and accurate month-end close

• Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data

The ideal candidate will need:

• BS in Accounting

• 1+ years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment

• Solid computer skills with a large ERP system and Excel
