Job Title: Staff Accountant

Position Type: Full-Time; Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing various accounting functions and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and supporting budgetary processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.

  • Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by analyzing financial data and providing insights.

  • Ensure compliance with firm policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.

  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to address accounting-related inquiries and issues.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a professional services related industry.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication skills.

  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.

  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation processes.

Pay Details: $28.00 to $36.00 per hour
