A boutique non-profit organization is seeking a VP of Finance to join their leadership team to oversee their financial operations. They receive both government and private funding to support their initiatives and programs.
Position Summary:
The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong supervisory experience and the ability to streamline and upgrade accounting and operational processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of improving morale and rallying the team to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with government and private funding requirements.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to streamline and upgrade accounting and operational processes.
Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
Prepare and present financial reports to the Board of Directors and senior management.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial alignment with organizational goals.
Manage audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks.
Foster a positive work environment and improve team morale.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
Minimum of [5] years of experience in a senior financial management role, must be in a non-profit organization.
Strong supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead and develop a team.
Experience with government and private funding requirements.
Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
