Main Tasks
- Initiate phone calls, send emails, and mail notices to customers with past due accounts to remind them of outstanding balances and encourage prompt payment.
- Work with customers to establish payment arrangements that adhere to company guidelines while also considering individual circumstances to increase the likelihood of successful collection.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer interactions, payment promises, and collection activities within the company’s database or ERP systems.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes, unapplied cash, short payments, and other discrepancies in coordination with sales, billing, and customer service teams.
- Identify severely delinquent accounts and escalate them according to company policy, which may include involving management, legal teams, or outside collection agencies.
- Generate regular reports for management detailing the status of outstanding accounts, collection activities, and success rates.
- Assist the finance team in reconciling accounts and ensuring that all receivables are accurately reported in financial statements.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in credit and collections, accounts receivable, or a similar finance-related role is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues clearly and confidently, and to negotiate effectively with customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and find mutually beneficial solutions for customers and the company.
- Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Willingness to collaborate with other members of the finance and customer service teams to achieve organizational goals.
Pay Details: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour
