Job Title: Material Planner

Location: Bothell, WA


Length: Contract – 3 Months


As a Material Planner, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials to ensure efficient production processes. You will collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, and production teams to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules while minimizing excess inventory and costs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Review and verify material and component specifications in engineering drawings for accuracy before or after formal release


  • Work with engineering and production teams to determine the materials needed for cabinet fabrication.


  • Set up purchase requisitions for procurement based on schedule needs, lead times, and quantity requirements.


  • Schedule and track material deliveries in line with production requirements and aircraft modification schedules.


  • Compute material requirements for job orders and support various departments in exchanging information on material specifications, lead times, substitutions, and costs.


  • Collaborate with procurement to improve lead times and quality from vendors and engineering.


  • Review production schedules, identify outstanding needs, and coordinate with procurement and stores to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials.


  • Manage procurement issues by expediting materials as needed and arrange internal transfers to meet production schedules.


  • Analyze material costs to ensure the best value.


Education, Experience & Certification:



  • Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in aviation and aircraft interiors is a plus.


  • Advanced proficiency with database software, MRP software, inventory and order processing systems, and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).


  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and material specifications.


  • Knowledge of procurement processes for raw materials, particularly related to VIP aircraft interiors.


  • Strong understanding of MRP systems, manufacturing flows, and production planning.


  • Effective communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.


  • Experience with MRP, inventory, and order processing systems
