Purchase Order/Inventory Control Specialist

LHH is working with an established manufacturing company seeking an Purchase Order/Inventory Control Specialist to assist with inventory management and control. The ideal candidate will work closely with production and accounting teams to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting. This role will be responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, monitoring material usage, and supporting production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Create and receive purchase orders, verifying costs and quantities.

· Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts, reporting variances to relevant stakeholders.

· Review and validate period-end inventory counts, performing recounts as necessary.

· Track yields of emulsion and artificial casing using Excel; communicate significant variances to production managers and update Bills of Materials (BOM) when required.

· Review daily production documents and verify BOM accuracy with production teams.

· Process manufacturing orders for emulsions, finished goods, and x-ray rejected products.

· Maintain and file SQF (Safe Quality Food) documents and customer complaints.

· Perform fat analysis on raw meat received and daily emulsions using the Foss machine; generate reports and distribute findings to relevant teams.

· Notify the General Manager when raw meat is outside of specification.

· Generate and distribute daily production reports.

· Order and maintain office supplies for the department.

· Monitor raw material usage on the production floor and identify any waste, generating disposition forms as needed.

· Generate weekly shelf-life reports for short-dated finished goods and distribute them to relevant team members.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

· Experience in inventory control within a manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.

· Familiarity with Great Plains ERP (transitioning to NetSuite is in progress).

· Ability to work cross-functionally with production and accounting teams.

· Strong communication and organizational skills.

· Additional Information:

· The role is open due to the current employee relocating out of state.

· The ideal candidate will cross-train with the departing employee for as long as possible before their departure in six weeks.

Location: Bronx, NY

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 (higher compensation may be considered based on experience)

Reports to: Production Manager and Accounting
