Position Overview

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role is ideal for someone looking to make a long-term career-move with a company that values accuracy, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting financial operations and driving accounting excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quarter-end and year-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

• Coordinate and manage the full month-end close calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met across accounting functions.

• Review and approve journal entries related to accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts, including cash, inventory, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.

• Analyze financial results and prepare variance reports comparing actuals to budget or forecast, highlighting key drivers and anomalies.

• Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, operations, tax) to gather necessary data and resolve discrepancies.

• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline close procedures and reduce cycle time.

• Support internal and external audit requirements by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to monthly close activities.

• Deliver ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

• Proficient in ERP systems such as SAP, Dynamics, or NetSuite, and advanced Excel functions.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Someone willing to demonstrate leadership qualities and capabilities within a team environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary range from $85,000-$95,000

• 4-6 month contract with ending permanent offer

• Flexible Monday–Friday scheduling

• Hybrid work model (3 days onsite)
