Job Type: Full-Time, Night Shift Onsite (8 hours between 19:00 - 03:30, every other weekend required); 3 month contract role to start.
Job Description:
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Registration Specialist for an onsite night shift position Burlingame, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong EPIC experience and recent patient registration experience. This role serves as the face-to-face point of contact for patients and is a great opportunity to showcase your skills with an established healthcare company.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet patients and family members, obtain and verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information.
Complete the end-to-end process of patient registration, including entry of patient/guarantor information, collection of patient signatures, and imaging/copying of registration documents.
Obtain and process signed physician orders, maintain assigned work queue, and conduct insurance eligibility/benefit verification.
Provide financial education on designated accounts, calculate estimated patient liability, and actively collect appropriate patient liabilities.
Refer appropriate cases to financial counseling for follow-up and consultation.
Perform additional duties such as needed.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
1 year of recent relevant experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
General knowledge of patient access, financial counseling, and functions in acute and non-acute settings.
Understanding of insurance and medical terminology, EMTALA, and Consent Laws.
Strong time management skills and ability to manage frequent in-person patient contacts.
Proficiency in multiple computer systems, including patient registration/accounting systems, document imaging, and payment posting.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work concurrently on various tasks/projects in a diverse environment.
Computer proficiency and ability to maintain confidential information.
Shift Information:
Night Shift: 5x8-Hour (19:00 - 03:30)
Pay Details: $31.00 to $32.00 per hour
