As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Union Payroll Specialist to join our team.


Position Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage and oversee all aspects of payroll processing. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of payroll procedures, labor laws, and union regulations. They will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for unionized and non-union employees, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and government regulations.


Responsibilities:



  • Process union payroll in accordance with established procedures and deadlines


  • Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies


  • Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, and other adjustments as per union agreements


  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and timely onboarding and termination of union employees


  • Maintain updated knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws and union regulations


  • Address inquiries and concerns from union members regarding payroll matters


  • Prepare reports and documentation for audits and compliance purposes


  • Support and back-up payroll processing for corporate and non-union employees


  • Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures


  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams for accurate financial reporting


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in union payroll administration


  • Proficient in payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel


  • Understanding of labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and union regulations


  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy


  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills


  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity


  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Certification in Payroll (CPP, FPC, etc.)


  • Experience with in-house payroll processing
