Systems Administrator (Mid-Level)
Location: Point Mugu Naval Base, Camarillo, CA
Job Type: Full-Time
Clearance Required: Active T5 Top Secret
Salary Range: $71,000 – $121,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
Overview LHH is seeking a
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain LANs, operating systems, and physical/virtual servers
Manage IT infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms
Monitor system performance and ensure availability of hardware and network resources
Review system/application logs and manage scheduled jobs and backups
Administer Windows Active Directory and enforce policies
Analyze resource usage and manage user access
Install and upgrade software; maintain licensing compliance
Support network modeling, planning, and coordination
Implement cybersecurity measures to protect data and systems
Perform regular system updates and patching
Contribute to light software development and testing (e.g., Cypress, Jest)
Collaborate with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Maintain system documentation for operations and troubleshooting
Apply strong analytical and communication skills in a team environment
Qualifications
3–10 years of relevant experience in system administration
Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
Strong understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, and cybersecurity principles
Experience with PKI, SSL certificates, and system patching
Light development/testing experience (1–2 years preferred)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Relevant certifications (preferred):
CompTIA Security+, A+, Network+, Data+
Linux Professional Institute (LPI)
Active Directory
Hypervisors (Hyper-V, VMware)
Preferred Experience
Prior military experience in IT or system administration
Kubernetes knowledge
Tier 2 IT Help Desk support
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science or a related technical field
Substitution: 6 years of relevant experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree; 4 years with an associate degree
Security Clearance
Must hold an active T5 Top Secret clearance
U.S. citizenship required at the time of application
