Engineering Project Coordinator 📍 On-site | Carlstadt, NJ 💵 Up to $40/hour (contract) | 💼 Up to $115,000/year (permanent)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Engineering Project Coordinator to lead cross-functional teams in the development and delivery of innovative mechanical and electronic products. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles and hands-on experience managing complex hardware development projects from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management
Lead full lifecycle product development for mechanical and electronic systems
Apply and adapt project management frameworks (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban) to hardware development
Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing scope, schedule, and budget
Coordinate efforts across engineering, design, manufacturing, and QA teams
Technical Coordination
Facilitate communication between mechanical, electrical, and software teams
Review and align technical specs, design documents, and test plans with project goals
Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation phases
Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development cycle
Stakeholder Management
Act as liaison between engineering and executive leadership, sales, marketing, and support
Present project updates and milestones to senior stakeholders
Translate customer requirements into actionable engineering plans
Collaborate with product management on feature prioritization and roadmaps
Process Improvement & Quality
Continuously improve engineering workflows and project delivery practices
Track KPIs for team performance and project success
Implement documentation, version control, and change management best practices
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
Proven experience managing hardware product development projects
Hands-on use of project management methodologies in engineering environments
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes
Solid knowledge of electronic systems, circuit design, and embedded development
Familiarity with software development lifecycles and testing methodologies
Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Fabriwin) and electronic design software (e.g., PADs)
Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
