Job Title: Payroll Accountant
Location: Cedar Park, Texas
LHH (formerly Accounting Principals) has partnered with a leading construction company with a strong presence in multiple states adding a new payroll accountant due to a recent acquisition.
Job Description: As a Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our employees across multiple states. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with state and federal regulations, and provide support for payroll-related inquiries. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll for employees in multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, deductions, and benefits.
Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings and year-end reports.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related inquiries from employees.
Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Stay current with changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, including multi-state payroll processing.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
